The Print Box is a structural poem bathed in daylight, texture, and delight. Crafted volumes contain a carbon print studio in one space, and a one-bedroom apartment the other. Two surface treatments - intentionally-rusting stucco walls next to industrialized panels - weave together the two types of functions within, contrasting and coordinating, to make a richly-textured space inside and out. The resulting composition juxtaposes the two architectural approaches, marrying the live and work functions of the owner. Other details include custom steel-plate windows, perforated sunscreen, and a two-piece concealed gutter.
